Ryan Ford opened The Organic Butcher of Charlottesville in 2005. A growing need for locally processed beef paired with ambitious growth goals led Ryan to the doorstep of the abandoned “Dinner Bell Meat Company” plant, in Lynchburg, VA.
Ryan acquired the plant in 2012. Renovations commenced in 2015 and operations began.
Without customers, employees, cattle or equipment, it was an uphill climb from day one!
